The Pop Star Of Hip Hop Sensation - 1150 Words
Hip-hop sensation Nicki Minaj and Lady Gaga are two exemplary American artists that appear to be making potentially feminist statements about female independency, beauty norms and female sexuality. Lady Gaga is a pop star but she also calls herself as a performance artist. She emphasizes and cherishes the visual images and costumes on stage. This essayââ¬â¢s focus on Nicki Minaj and Lady Gagaââ¬â¢s characteristic that they both are feminist pop star. They look at things from the perspective of progressive women and express in their own ways. Their colours arenââ¬â¢t one off its commonly seen in their oeuvres. She refers ââ¬Ëskinny womenââ¬â¢ in the club got nothing on w omen which tells ââ¬Ëdonââ¬â¢t miss mealsââ¬â¢ , throughout the video Minaj consistently address body types and sizes suggesting that she eats well, works out hard, loves her curves and booty. In ââ¬ËAnacondaââ¬â¢, Minaj absolutely overthrow the Sir Mix-A-Lotââ¬â¢s ââ¬ËBaby Got Backââ¬â¢ original tone and taking black womanââ¬â¢s body approved and subject to the ââ¬Å"satisfaction of those men and reclaims it for herself and women like herâ⬠. It also manages to do this without discriminating against people who ââ¬Å"perpetuate racism and misogyny or oppressorsâ⬠, such as the white feminists who further objectify ââ¬Å"women of colourâ⬠. Instead, the song and video
